MEDICAL

A Common Entrance Examination (CEE) is conducted by Controller of Entrance Examination. (The State Government of Kerala), Kerala for admission to the MBBS, BDS, B, BSc Nursing, B.Sc., MLT, BHMS, BAMS course during June in the Districts of the State. Eligibility : Age : 17 years as in 31st December of the year of admission. Pre-degree of Kerala Universities or equivalent with PCB (as optional subjects) with 50% aggregate Marks (for SC/ST a mere pass and for SEBC 45%) BSc degree (3 years) with PCZ, Botany/BioChem with 50% (for SC/ST a mere pass and for SEBC 45%) in main and subsidiary subjects taken together. They should have passed the qualifying exam with PCB. Reservation : 15% for All India Entrance Exam, 50 % for Kerala State Merit, 15% Kerala regional merit, socially and educationally backward classes (SEBC) 25% , SC 8 % and ST 2%. Seats are reserved for Govt. of India nominees, Pondicherry nominees, Children's of Defence personnel killed/disabled/missing or Ex-servicemen, Orthopaedically and other handicapped candidates, Anglo Indian community candidates. Selection is made on the basis of merit in CET which is of pre-degree standard and covers PCB subjects. No test is held for those seeking admission under sports, orthopaedically
 ENGINEERING

The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Santhi Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram 695 001 (Government of Kerala) conducts a Common Entrance Examination (CEE) for admission to the Engineering, Medical and Agricultural courses. Engineering courses (BE/BTech) for Free seats in the Govt. and Private (Aided) Engineering Colleges in the State and the Free and Payment seats in the Autonomous Engineering Colleges. BTech (Agril. Engineering) and B.Tech(Dairy Science & Technology) under the Kerala Agricultural University. Selection of Candidates for B.Tech courses in th REC's against the seats reserved for Kerala, is based on performance in this Common Entrance Examination. Any candidates seeking admission to REC, who has qualified in the Pre-Degree or equivalent examination, from Educational Institutions located within the State of Kerala, is eligible for admission to the seats reserved for Kerala in the 17 RECs. The NRI candidates who seek admission to the seats other than NRI quota, which are to be filled on the basis of rank in the Common Entrance Exam, can apply in the prescribed application form, provided they appear for the Common Entrance Exam. A separate notification for NRI quota Seats is issued. Degree Courses in the Engineering Colleges : in the state , including The Model Engineering College, Ernakulam, Autonomous (Self-Financing Colleges) at Chengannur, Kasaragod and Private (self-financing ) Engineering colleges at Valanchery, B.Tech. Agricultural Engineering, and B.Sc Dairy Science and Technology, under the Kerala Agricultural University and for the Entrance Examination in respect of admission to B.Tech. courses in the REC in the country, including the REC , Calicut.

Note : Selection of candidates for B.Tech Courses in REC. against the seats reserved for Kerala, is based on the performance in the Common Entrance Examination.

Eligibility:

Indian Citizen, the candidate should have studied in educational institutions in Kerala for at least five years within a total period of 12 years before the completion of qualifying exam (Pre degree or equivalent exam) or the candidate, or the candidate's father/mother should have born in Kerala or , the candidate has been a resident of Kerala, for a period of 5-year within a period of 12 years. Or Non-Keralaite candidates who have undergone the qualifying course in Kerala, and who are sons/daughters of the following categories of non-Keralite parents:

Emplyees of the Government of India, or Defence Personnel posted in Kerala, or employees who are serving in connection with the affairs of the Government of Kerala, subject to the condition that the employees concerned have served in Kerala for a minimum period of two years or have served in connection with the affairs of the Government of Kerala for a minimum period of Two years.

Academic Qualification for Engineering Courses:

Pre-degree from any one the universities in Kerala, or any of her Examination recognized any of the universities in Kerala State as equivalent, thereto with 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics put together or 3 year Diploma in Engineering with 50 % marks in the Final Diploma examination are also eligible. Admission to Diploma holders in Engineering courses is restricted to the Engineering colleges, under the Kerala and Mahatma Gandhi Universities only. Relaxation of 5% marks of certain specified categories listed under the Socially Educationally Backward classes whose annual family income is below Rs.42,000/-. This limit is not applicable for admission to payment seats. In case of the SC/ST candidates, they need only a pass. Those who have appeared for the Pre-degree exam or equivalent exam are also permitted to take the Common Entrance Examination.

Age : Should have completed 17 years of age on 31st December of the year of admission.
